Working together to help Lebanon via free telehealth, second opinions, and mentorship

Heal Beirut is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization that was created in the aftermath of the devastating August 4, 2020 Beirut explosion to increase access to care and reduce the burdens on Lebanon’s healthcare system. Heal Beirut is comprised of a collective of volunteer healthcare professionals in the United States who have joined forces.

Heal Beirut serves as a platform to connect US healthcare providers to people in Lebanon for free telehealth sessions. We have practitioners who speak Arabic, English, and/or French available.

We also offer offer a free, asynchronous second opinion program for anyone in Lebanon who would like the advice or input of US healthcare providers.

Lastly, we offer mentorship, application and personal statement review, interview preparation, and additional resources for people in Lebanon hoping to obtain residency positions, research opportunities, or shorter-term clinical rotations in the US.

why we do it.

The healthcare system in Lebanon is overburdened.

Because, even resilience is finite.

Lebanon and its beautiful people have suffered the unimaginable, yet they continue to fight for the Lebanon we love and hold dear to our hearts. With the global pandemic, economic collapse, political instability, and catastrophic August 4th, 2020 explosion, the Lebanese people and their medical professionals are under immense strain. We are here to lend a hand, however we can.

If you are a United States healthcare professional and are willing to donate your time and efforts to this cause, please sign up.
